Most media outlets are fixated on the federal website and program Healthcare.gov, but there are also the state exchanges (for the states that set them up) and the people taking advantage of the medicaid expansion (in the states that accepted that). About 6 million new people overall.
Also, the WH is claiming another 3 million people between 22 and 26 are covered on their parent’s insurance because of the plan. So make that 9 million total.
The other widely ignored story are the 5 million people who would be getting medicaid but for their GOP governors refusing the medicaid expansion. Those poor souls are in what we call the “wingnut hole.” Heat should be starting to build on those governors.
