I don’t usually do this because there are so many just a bubblin’ under the surface of the Right Wing Nut-o-sphere, sometimes Fox News bites on them and runs with them for a hot psycho minute, sometimes they don’t. There’s such a constant flow that we at Polislice have become almost inured to their crazy. But every once in a while a story comes along that has both key elements of 1. being waaaaay off the loony charts, and 2. spread by actual elected officials who should be above this, but well, that’s just wishful thinking at this point.
This crazy idea that our Muslim President was planning a military takeover of Texas. Yeah, I know, who could take that seriously? Sigh. If you’re surprised by anything anymore you’re just not paying attention.
Texas residents were up in arms this week over a planned U.S. military training exercise that’s been portrayed in right-wing conspiracy theory circles as everything from a ploy to confiscate Americans’ guns to an excuse to abduct political dissidents.
Not making this up. I mean, somebody made this up, but the fact that a rabble of rednecks (that is the correct terminology for a gathering of more than three rednecks, btw) got their granny panties in a bunch over it is what’s not being made up here. You just have to read this to understand why sanity will never cross the blood brain barrier for these people.
And of course Alex Jones of Inforwars is one of the main spreaders of this poopy diaper.
Retail giant Wal-Mart closed five stores earlier this month, including one in Texas, without warning. All News Pipeline immediately connected those closures to “Jade Helm 15” by speculating that the stores would “be used as ‘food distribution centers’ and to house the headquarters of invading troops from China, here to disarm Americans one by one.”
Yeah, Walmarts never close, so that does seem really suspicious doesn’t it?
It’s all so hilarious.
