“We will be silent no more.” John Lewis

It’s an old fashioned sit-in in the House of Representatives, with John Lewis and company taking the lead of the Senate and their filibuster in favor of action on gun control legislation and taking it up a notch. Now this is the kind of thing that might just give the Congress a good name.

Of course, let’s just forget for a minute that this kind of loud, proud, in your face activism, is not supposed to be necessary in the capitol of our nation, and certainly not in the House of the Government for the People and by the People. But it is necessary, has been for a while, and this is the only responsible approach to that necessity.

The monkey wrench of democracy is gettin’ some work! And yes, for today I am actually proud to be a Democrat!
