In a year of unprecedented dishonesty and weirdness, Trump might have reached an apex today.

The complete and total self-inflicted wound of idiocy and insensitivity that is his attack on the Khan family has expanded to the inevitable place where his surrogates suggest the Khans are part of the Muslim Brotherhood.  Anybody else with any political insticts would have said “I’m sorry for their loss” and cut theirs.  But no, Donald keeps feeding it. That’s a president!

John McCain and other Repubs have had to repudiate his comments without withdrawing endorsements. An organization of Gold Star families is asking for an apology.

Senator Kelly Ayotte, Republican of New Hampshire, whose husband is an Iraq War veteran and who is fighting to win a second term, said Monday that she was “appalled” by Mr. Trump’s comments. A spokeswoman for Senator Rob Portman, Republican of Ohio, also weighed in, as did Senator Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania. They denounced Mr. Trump’s words but did not reverse their endorsements.

Meanwhile he’s engaged in a war against fire marshals as well. Yeah, really.  He called out the Fire Marshall in Denver for not allowing an unsafe number of people to inhabit a room. This after members of the same fire department had to get him out of a stuck elevator.

Criticizing the fire marshal on Friday, Trump said he didn’t know what he was doing and was “probably a Democrat.”

Lacey was recently honored by the city as “Civilian of the Year” for his role in helping the wounded at a 2015 mass shooting at a local Planned Parenthood.

If your campaign gave out too many tickets or booked the wrong venue in the first place that’s on you, not the Fire Marshall.  So that’s crazy.  Like every other thing in his life that displeases him, he can’t let it go, learn from it and move on in a classy manner. So he keeps going.

This after a weekend in which he displayed a complete misunderstanding of what’s going on in Ukraine.

He also lied about the NFL sending him a letter about the debates, which he’s totally trying to get out of.  And he’s never going to show us his taxes, ya know.
