So Talking Points Memo asks today if the delegitimization of Hillary might continue after the campaign. The only answer to that can be – duh! Of course!

Right now Trump’s big plays are calling the Democratic Party nominee Hillary “Rotten” Clinton and claiming she said she would raise taxes on the middle class by editing the “not” out of the phrase “we aren’t going to raise taxes on the middle class.” Smart it’s not, classy it’s not and working it’s not. But predictable it sure is.

Trump is borrowing a page from a Republican playbook, after all, that dates back to allegations against President Bill Clinton and, of course, claims that President Barack Obama was born in Kenya and actually is Muslim. But while his tactics set the stage for a repeat of the Obama era of knee-jerk obstruction, Trump goes far beyond even birtherism, which he played a large part in stoking during the 2012 election cycle, when he suggests that a hypothetical victory for Clinton in November could only be the result of a fraudulent election.

Of course, whatever is left of the GOP after November will attack Hillary as they attacked Barack and they attacked Bill.  If they have the House at their disposal expect the continuation of the Benghazi/e-mail hearings ad nauseum.  Because that’s all they have and that’s who they are.

This ridiculous lawsuit, that almost certainly will get thrown out at the first opportunity by a sane judge, will be the Fox News/Trump answer to the Khan family and all of the sensible foreign affairs minds that have said NeverTrump, until November 8. Of course they’re suing her and Larry Klayman and Freedom Watch are behind it.  But guess what their action is.

Patricia Smith and Charles Woods allege that the deaths of their sons, Sean Smith and Tyrone Woods, were “directly and proximately caused, at a minimum” by Clinton’s communication of “confidential” email through the personal server… (emphasis added)

“Having used a secret private email server that we now know was used to communicate with Ambassador Christopher Stevens with confidential and classified government information, and which we also now know was likely hacked by hostile adversaries such as Iran, Russia, China and North Korea aligning with terrorist groups, it is clear that Hillary Clinton allegedly negligently and recklessly gave up the classified location of the plaintiffs’ sons, resulting in a deadly terrorist attack that took their lives,” Freedom Watch founder Larry Klayman said in a statement.

It’s the lawsuit equivalent of editing her statements to say the opposite of what she said. It’s merely combining the greatest hits of the great right wing noise machine into one nuisance suit that they can point to as a “serious” threat to her candidacy.

It’s all they have and who they are. Disgusting and dishonorable.
