For the record the one and only time I ever did stand up comedy was that night. It didn’t go that well because well-meaning people thought that heckling helped. It doesn’t. The trauma of it probably kept me from ever doing it again. From that point on I was an ensemble performer, most likely subconsciously. It was years later I recalled that up until that experience I was preparing to do stand up, but never did it again.
Kinda pivotal turn in my life, and like many others, I was consciously oblivious to it for a long time.
Humans is weird. I know I am.
