So many polls, so many questions. For example, more people in the country believe Trump is dishonest than disapprove of his presidency, so how do you really gauge who the true Trump deadenders are?
Maybe this WaPo-ABC poll does that, indirectly.
A 58 percent majority say they approve of Mueller’s handling of the investigation, while 28 percent say they disapprove, the Post-ABC poll finds. People’s views depend in large part on their political leanings, but overall, Americans are generally inclined to trust Mueller and the case he has made so far.
That seems right. The true Trumpistas that follow and excuse everything Trump does, including pussy grabbing and Russian collusion, would be the 28% of people who disapprove of the Mueller investigation. There are always a few people who are not politically aware or who are just constitutionally willing to give the benefit of the doubt to the person of their own party. They’ll say they approve of the Trump presidency and maybe even vote for him again, if he’s the nominee, but they’re not necessarily true believers.
But the 28% who say they disapprove of the Mueller investigation are certainly the hard core who swim in the Fox/Infowars/Breitbart swamp. Clearly, to have that opinion you have to be absorbing pro-Trump and anti-Mueller propaganda and not having a brain aneurysm.
