The NH Union Leader endorsed Damaged Goods Chris Christie for the GOP nomination as the anti-Trump back in that golden period before NH voted (memories, like the corners of my mind).

The fact that he got chewed up and spat out in that state (which is somewhat ironic for Christie, no?) didn’t give them pause. But then the big galoot goes and endorses Trump making the NH Union Leader look ridiculous. And a newspaper in that position cannot afford to be made to look ridiculous. So they withdrew their endorsement.
